Baal Vidya Curriculum

The parents are advised to go through the syllabus outline for each level and choose an appropriate Level for their children in registration form.

Baal Vidya is being offered ONLINE in 3 Levels.

Baal Vidya curriculum is divided into 3 levels based on the age ranges. A child may remain in the same level for up to 3 years depending on the age of the child. However, each year the child will learn new material within that level as there are three different set of books that will be covered on a rotating basis every year.

LEVEL-1 (PRATHAMA)
Target Age Group: 6 to 8 Years

The focus on this level is story telling using three different set of books, including Bhagavata Purana, Puranic Tales and Ramayana over three years. Students will be introduced to universal values and how they relate to our modern day living. They will learn about various Hindu deities and festivals as well.

Reference Books: Panchatantra, Puranic Tales, Ramayana and Bhagavata Purana

ACTIVITIES:
1. Learning simple prayers and Slokas
2. Moral stories from Panchtantra and Puranas.
3. Introduction to Ramayana
4. Basic Meditation and Yoga techniques
5. Celebration of Hindu festivals and learning about Indian cultural heritage
6. Games and fun filled activities to cultivate curiosity in Hindu dharma.
7. Learning values through above activities and creating a strong foundation at an early age.

LEVEL-2 (DWITIYA)
Target Age Group: 9 to 12 Years

The focus on this level is learning the epic, Mahabharata and enhancing the understanding of universal values. Discussions will focus on recognition of conflicting values within characters and drawing examples from current world to see how these values and conflicts are still applicable in our daily living. Students will also be introduced to Isvara and various Hindu religious practices.

ACTIVITIES:
1. Learning prayers and Sloka chanting with Vedic pronunciation
2. Stories about Krishna and introduction to Mahabharata
3. Meditation and Yoga sessions
4. Motivational talks/Videos, Emotional balance and Conflict resolution techniques
5. Celebration of Hindu festivals and learning about Indian cultural heritage
6. Games and fun filled activities to cultivate deep interests in Hindu philosophy
7. Learning life lessons and values through above activities and creating a strong foundation armed with survival skills to easily sail through the challenging times at school as well as at personal level.

LEVEL-3 (TRUTIYA)
Target Age Group: 13 to 16 Years

The focus on this level is on personal and spiritual growth. Students will spend time understanding Sanatana Dharma and will be introduced to the elements of Bhagavad Gita within the complexity of Mahabharata. Universal values will be explored as it relates to being a teenager living in the Western society with an Indian background.
